What is a statute of limitations?

by Administrator 19. November 2009 06:27

Many personal injury claims include a statute of limitations provision. This means that the lawsuit must be filed within a certain time of the injury.

If the lawsuit is not filed within that time frame, then the injured party may not be able to sue for damages. While many personal injury claims have a statute of limitations, some may not. Moreover, the statute of limitations for many claims depends on the state where the injury occurred or the lawsuit is filed.

If you or anyone you know has questions about the statute of limitations related to a certain claim, contact the Tampa personal injury lawyers of 800-235-8978.
