3 Killed in Tampa Car Accident

Three people were killed Thursday night in a Tampa car accident.

 

According to officials with the Tampa police department, the fatal two-car crash occurred shortly before 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of North 34th and East Chelsea streets. Police say a blue 1995 Buick was traveling east on Chelsea and a white 2008 Didoge Charger was southbound on 34th street. The vehicles collided in the intersection. 

 

Three people in the Buick died, police said. A 67 year-old man and a 58 year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. 

 

A 46 year-old woman was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

 

Police have not released the names of the victims, pending the notification of their families. The accident remains under investigation.

3 Injured in Tampa Car Accident

Three people were injured in a Tampa car accident Monday.

According to officials with the Florida Highway Patrol, 63 year-old James C. Weaver, of Tampa, was attempting to turn right onto Fletcher Avenue from southbound Nebraska Avenue shortly after 3:00 p.m. when he went into cardiac arrest. Police say Weaver's 2008 Ford F250 struck the back of another vehicle driven by 29 year-old Mark Schubert. The impact sect Schubert's vehicle into the car in front of his, driven by 28 year-old Mohamed Begdouri. Begdouri's vehicle spun and struck a fourth vehicle, driven by 29 year-old Joseph Hammond.


Weaver was transported to University Community Hospital following the crash. Begdouri and his passenger, 29 year-old Mohammed Hamlile, were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.

Motorcyclist Killed in Tampa Crash

A man died killed Monday afternoon in a Tampa motorcycle accident on Busch Boulevard.

According to officials with the Florida Highway Patrol, 43 year-old Mark Graves was driving a 2010 Harley Davidson west on Busch Boulevard near Arrawana Avenue shortly after 4:30 p.m. when the accident occurred. Police say 74 year-old George Gunter was driving a 2006 Ford truck east and made a left turn, failing to yield to Graves. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of Gunter's truck.


Graves was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The police report said he was not wearing a helmet. Gunter was uninjured in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.

Man Dies in Tampa Crash

A man died in a Tampa car accident Monday when he clipped another vehicle while attempting to change lanes at a high rate of speed, police say.

According to officials with the St. Petersburg Police Department, 24 year-old Joshua Klessig was traveling south on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Street shortly before midnight Monday at a high rate of speed. Police say Klessig passed several cars in the 8300 block, possibly driving into northbound lanes. As Klessig was trying to pass a 2004 Dodge minivan, driven by 26 year-old Danny Harnage, when the front of his 1998 Jeep Cherokee clipped the rear of the Dodge, police say.

The force of the impact caused both vehicles to spin out. Klessig's Jeep struck a concrete light pole, police say.

Klessig was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Woman Killed, 4 Year-Old Injured in Tampa Crash

A woman is dead and a 4  year-old girl in critical condition after a Tampa car accident.

 

According to officials with the Florida Highway Patrol, 52 year-old Tonya Brown in a 1995 Toyota traveling east through Ruskin Friday afternoon when the accident occurred. Police say Brown's vehicle  left the roadway and entered the grass shoulder. The car struck a ditch, continued forward, and then struck a billboard trailer.

 

Brown was killed and pronounced dead at the scene. A 4 year-old passenger in the car, Deasia Brown, was critically injured in the accident. She was transported to a nearby hospital following the crash.

 

The relationship between Tonya Brown and Deasia Brown is not known.

Driver Critically Injured in Tampa Car Accident

A 48 year-old man from Zephyrhills man is in the hospital following a Tampa car accident.

 

According to a officials with the Tampa Police Department, Ernest Alexander was traveling south on Interstate 275 when the crash occurred. Alexander lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, and collided with the back of a sanitation truck which was parked on the shoulder of the road, police say. 

 

The driver of the sanitation truck, 26 year-old Gregory Charlemagne, had pulled over to the shoulder after one of the truck's tires blew out. The force of the impact caused a storage compartment door on the truck to break off. The door struck another car, authorities say, but no other injuries were reported.

 

Alexander was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital after the crash. He is listed in critical condition. No information on the nature of his injuries is available.
