Three people were injured in a Tampa car accident Monday.

According to officials with the Florida Highway Patrol, 63 year-old James C. Weaver, of Tampa, was attempting to turn right onto Fletcher Avenue from southbound Nebraska Avenue shortly after 3:00 p.m. when he went into cardiac arrest. Police say Weaver's 2008 Ford F250 struck the back of another vehicle driven by 29 year-old Mark Schubert. The impact sect Schubert's vehicle into the car in front of his, driven by 28 year-old Mohamed Begdouri. Begdouri's vehicle spun and struck a fourth vehicle, driven by 29 year-old Joseph Hammond.

Weaver was transported to University Community Hospital following the crash. Begdouri and his passenger, 29 year-old Mohammed Hamlile, were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
