A Hillsbough County Sheriff''s deputy was injured Thursday in a Tampa truck accident.

According to officials with the Hillsbough County Sheriff's Department, 51 year-old Deputy Deborah Walker was injured in a busy intersection when a tractor-trailer crane's air brakes apparently failed and struck her cruiser. Police say Walker's cruiser was t-boned, pushing the vehicle into oncoming traffic and causing a chain reaction crash with two other cars and a Hart Line bus.

Tow trucks were called to the scene to lift the crane off the top of the cruiser, and fire fighters worked to extract Walker from the vehicle. Authorities say Walker was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment. She is listed in serious condition.
