At 11:30 a.m. Monday, a three-car collision occurred in thesouthbound lanes of Interstate 275 at Sligh Avenue, just momentsafter another accident had been cleared from the same location.

Earlier that morning, the driver of a garbage truck had lostcontrol of the vehicle, eventually coming to a stop straddling theguardrail and blocking the right lane for almost an hour. Floridastate troopers had just finished clearing the accident and reopeningthe lanes when the driver of one car, failing to notice brake lightsahead, slammed into the back of another vehicle. This vehicle, inturn, rear-ended the vehicle in front of it.

The two drivers who were hit from behind were both taken to thehospital in critical condition.
